This grape is primarily grown in northern Italy and has adapted exceptionally well to our Lake Chelan AVA – Purtteman estate vineyard. This is evidenced by the wines produced from our Dolcetto. The small berry size we seek has rewarded us with purple-red hues. The aromas and flavors from the grape include very ripe strawberries, red currants, ripe red plums, and a hint of sage and black licorice. French barrel aging adds some delicious toasty oak notes as well. This wine is excellent on its own or paired with a plate of sautéed mushrooms and artisan bread. You might also try it with smoked, pan-seared, or grilled fresh-caught salmon seasoned with herbs de Provence and finished with a huckleberry or plum sauce.

We love this grape as it never fails to amaze us—or you, for that matter. Deep and brooding in its presentation, our Malbec showcases a dark color with purple-red hues. The aromas and flavors from the grape include very ripe red raspberries, black currants, red ripe plum, and a hint of sage. The barrel aging adds some delicious toasty oak notes as well. It pairs best with a mushroom pie made from freshly harvested morel or chanterelle mushrooms that have been sautéed to perfection and folded into a rich brown sauce before being loaded into and baked in the pie shell. A delicious smoked beef brisket will suffice if you're a meat eater. Still not your thing? Try smoked, pan-seared, or grilled fresh-caught salmon seasoned with herbs de Provence and finished with a plum sauce with an ever-so-slight sweet note.

Our 2020 Tr*Umph is a Cabernet Sauvignon heavy wine which is quite sophisticated possessing medium – plus to full body.  Flavors and aromas of sweet vanilla bean, coffee bean and mocha barrel notes plus ripe black cherries, black currants and dried Provence herbs complete the flavor and aroma profile.  This is a wine of substance.  Match with a beef steak or a vegetarian meal centered around eggplant or mushrooms.  

Our 2021 TriUmph represents a very small – coveted bottling.   It is an elegant yet powerful red wine possessing enough body to be classified medium – plus to full.  Flavors and aromas are classic sweet vanilla bean – coffee bean barrel notes plus ripe black cherries a dash of raspberry and some black currants.  Slight rose petal and dried herbal notes complete the flavor and aroma profile.  The acidity and tannins are moderate and present a softer yet firm wine.  This is an excellent food wine.  Some recommended food pairings would be with grilled loin of lamb chops seasoned with the herbs of Provence or your favorite cut of beefsteak.  It would also pair very well with a rich – cheesy onion soup. 

The quality of this vintage’s Cabernet Sauvignon is evident in the fact that our 2022 TriUmph blend incorporates the highest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes ever used for this blend. This elegant wine boasts enough body to be classified as medium-plus to full. Flavors and aromas include sweet vanilla, coffee bean barrel notes, and a generous helping of ripe blackberries and cherries. A subtle hint of rose petals enhances the flavor and aroma profile. The acidity is moderate, while the tannins are fine and firm. This is an exceptional food wine. Recommended food pairings include a grilled loin of lamb chops seasoned with herbs of Provence, smoked or grilled line-caught salmon, or a spinach–mushroom-Comté cheese tart finished with a rich brown sauce

Our 2020 Whistle Punk is a superb – very well balanced red wine.  Very dark purple color, flavors and aromas of vanilla bean – graham cracker barrel notes compliment the grape notes beautifully.  Ripe black cherries plus purple plums complete the flavor and aroma profile.  Whistle Punk is not only a great food wine, a glass of it finishes your days work perfectly.  Match with homemade burgers, stews centered around beef or lamb or a savory eggplant Parmesan. 

Our 2021 Merlot represents a very small bottling.   It is very elegant with substantial medium – plus body.  The French oak barrel favors and aromas are sweet vanilla bean – roasted coffee bean.  Ripe Lapin cherry, some black currants plus generous rose petal and dried herbal notes complete the flavor and aroma profile.  The acidity and tannins are moderate and present a softer yet firm wine.  This is a superb food wine.  Some recommended food pairings would be with grilled salmon.

The quality of Stone Tree and James Vineyard fruit shines again. Our Merlot is an elegant wine with enough body to be classified as medium-plus to full. The flavors and aromas include sweet vanilla and coffee bean barrel notes, a healthy dose of ripe black cherries, a subtle hint of red raspberries, and some red and black currants. A delicate touch of rose petals completes the flavor and aroma profile. The acidity is moderate, and the tannins are fine and firm. This is an exceptional food wine. Recommended food pairings include a grilled loin of lamb chops seasoned with herbes de Provence or grilled line-caught salmon. Our Whistle Punk blend is a favorite with anyone sampling our wines.  The 2021 version does not disappoint as it delivers enough body to be classified medium – plus to full.  Flavors and aromas of harmonious sweet vanilla bean – coffee bean barrel notes plus a touch of sage, ripe blackberries, black pepper and black cherries complete the flavor and aroma profile.  This is an excellent food wine.  Some recommended food pairings would be with most any food grilled to include; baby – back ribs, hamburgers or BBQ (beef or pork).

The quality of this vintage’s Syrah is evident in our 2022 Whistle Punk, which is not blended with Petite Sirah. Despite the absence of Petite Sirah, the wine boasts a dark red color, bordering on purple. This is a robust wine with enough body to be classified as medium-plus to full. Flavors and aromas feature sweet notes of vanilla and coffee from the barrel. The grape contributes ripe red and purple plum, black sweet cherry, and an herbal hint. Acidity is moderate, while the tannins are fine and firm. This wine is an exceptional choice for food pairings or as a sipping option at the end of the day.
